1440p or Triple 1080p

Hello, I can't decide if I should get a single 1440p monitor for gaming or 3 1080p monitors.

I like the idea of having the extra peripheral vision it sounds kinda immersive in games like Skyrim but I've heard that it can stretch the image and things don't always look very good. 1440p, from what I've read makes everything just look so much better, rounder and sharper, no need for AA.

I would be running the whole thing on Crossfire R9 290s

Post your experiences, pros and cons of each and personal preference  :)

Triple 1440p? Anyhow, I have one 1440p monitor and it has been more than enough for me, the only upgrade I would go next with monitors would be two more 1440p monitors or a 4K monitor.

I would personally go for 3x1080p. You get the experience of surround gaming (although some people don't like it) plus the boost in productivity. You can always watch a video while playing a game on a single monitor if you wanted. If I'm playing BF4, I often have the map of the game on my right and a video of some sort on the right.

1 1440p and 2 1080p?

So, one 1440p 27 Inch and two 24 Inch 1080p.

i personally prefer a single Monitor, even a 1080p, Triple Monitor just doesn't appeal, a wide Monitor would be much preferable, as for 1440p, i never tried it, i don't know how much of a difference is it over 1080p, but it should be worth it, so i say a single wide 1080p, or Normal Ratio 1440p as it would coast as much as three

Id probs go 1440p as the bezels with 3 way would drive me insane also i wouldnt say u dont need any AA as with 4k u can still use like 4x but within saying this if u have 3 u can multitask alot better but if u keep your current monitor aswell u probs wont really have a problem with it if u can stand having 2 different monitors.

I would personally go for 3x 1080p monitors, but that's for productivity. Strictly gaming, I'd say single 1440p monitor

Triple 1440p would be too expensive for me. Plus I don't think the GPUs would appreicate it ^^

That also interests me alot, for certain games like Spelunky, play the game with a video on the side and when playing Skyrim fill the 3 screens :)

I was looking at Wide 1080p but most games don't support it from what I've seen.

I see that I wouldn't utilize the full potential of 3 screens, I would do some college work on the computer but mostly just Internet and Microsoft Office. I could go 1440p with a 1080p on the side maybe in portrait.

I don't really like portrait for monitors but i feel like that has more to do with me wearing glasses and not wanting to move my whole head up and down to see everything lol, I would honestly get a 1440p monitor for main/gaming monitor, and a 1080p of the same size next to it, or if I'm made of money, 2 1440p monitors, not 3

Thanks, that sounds like the better option.

you can do some tweaking to it or something, or just have Black bars on each side for games that don't support it  and still benefit from the additional space for multitasking and stuff, it's still better than Triple monitors

Wow 1440p is expensive, this is the monitor I'm considering http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00151327.html

That is a monitor for professional use, hence why the name ProArt. I would suggest the one I have, Dell U2713HM, very good for the price.

Link below for the cheapest place to buy it, it's in german so you might need to use google translator on your chrome. I've bought from hardwareversand.de and mindfactory.de so I know they are pretty good.

Another thing is, some shops offer a dead pixel check service and if they do have this, they probably will send you one with dead pixels on it if you don't add the service, it's around 20-30 euros depending on the size of the monitor.
