Is the Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics faster on a Core I7 than on a Core I5?

pidbarclay

So my graphics card ran into a problem, and while it is on RMA, I have been using that ''Intel HD Graphics 4600'' that is built in with my Core I5 4670K. I've watched a lot of benchmarks on Youtube with that chipset that were made using Core I7's and they were a lot better than the ones I am getting with my I5. Is it really faster on I7's or is there something wrong with my rig?

I don't really think that there is a difference...

they usually overclock the IGPU and you need to set the memory allocation.

I think that depends on how fast your RAM is. But I think that only applies on APU's. Either way, they perform the same.

I think the Core i7 has a 50MHz higher clock speed?

But both the i5 and i7 HD4600 can be overclocked quite a bit (I've heard 1.5-1.6GHz)

they are both the same. But the speed will change according to your cpu oc,specifically if you change the base clock.

I don't see why there would be a difference. They both use the same die.

hd graphics 4600 are always the same....ALWAYS

Clock-speeds vary, though. My 4670K is 50MHz lower than my 4770K with stock settings.

Yes, but the results are insignificant.

Say, mobile processors, the i5-4200U and the i7-4500U. The i5's HD 4400 has a highest boost clock of 1,000MHz, while the i7 has the ability to reach 1,100MHz. It's not a realistically desirable performance change considering the usual price differences, but it's there nonetheless.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

if you are referring to the FX line, point taken

if I don't have the cash to buy a discrete GPU for my system build but I don't mind gaming at 1080P low settings, then I will pick the A10-7850K with 2133MHz RAM

exactly, still playable and cheaper than a i5 in most places
