What hardware am I looking for? Is it a Graphic Card?

LordLarsen

Hello,

I need hardware for those programmes:

Adobe Illustaror CS6 (I have problems with copying and scaling complicated drawings)

Adobe Photoshop CS6 (problems with editing big images -  millions of pixels)

Blender ( need a shorter render time)

Sketch Up (copying and scaling models again)

View NX2/ Lightroom (millions of pixels again)

Less important:

AutoCad

Should I concentrate on Graphic Card or better CPU? If either which parameter and factors are important for this software? If both are very important what about combineing them?

What about apples offer? Their Nvidia and AMD cards:

Im about to buy a new computer so every thing is possible.

What's your budget and monitor resolution and existing parts that are going to be recycled in this build? Also what are you using now?

You gotta do you girl. I always say you gotta do you. And if he's doing him, then who's doing you? Because right now, it seems like no one's doing you.

I'd suggest spending more on the CPU side but look if the software you use has GPU acceleration.

I am looking for a whole new computer. Now I am using MacBook pro 13,3 and monitor resolution 1920x1200. My budget is big but not crazy, but I am asking rather for what should I concentrate on: Is it processor, or is it card's memory or something much more complicated?

At minimum you would need an equivalent of a Core i5 with a Geforce 660, 8 Gigs of Ram and a 7200 rpm hard drive with 100 GB free space at all times and 32 MB cache.

It's a combination of everything. You need a fast processor with multi threading to handle applications, GPU to handle rendering and enough RAM for multitasking. An SSD is preferred but you can get away with good enough performance using a 7200 rpm hard drive.

Please specify an exact budget so that we can recommend some parts.

I would say upwards of 1200$ (without OS, monitor and peripherals of course)

Also please let us know if you need an OS and / or monitor and / or peripherals.

Also I forgot to mention I don't know the scale of the projects you're working on. The specs above are the minimum I would consider, you can always go for a better processor, more RAM and an SSD. Though any graphics card above a 770 will give diminishing returns unless you're the 3d models you're rendering are too much for consumer grade graphics cards in which case the Titan Z is your best bet.

There are reasons why we ask this as it isn't as simple as specifying a particular part. That is only useful for well experience builders, if you are one then that question wouldn't have been asked in the first place. Another thing is we don't know exactly what you'll be doing in these applications as such it's very difficult to discern your necessary parts. Here's a sample of parts that will handle most if not all things you could throw at it that's way cheaper than Macs for the same performance. This rig is highly balanced and tuned for your needs.

GTX Titan Black. Blender in particular will need as much VRAM as possible, not to mention Blender only has acceleration on Nvidia cards.

Primarily, you should concentrate on the processor and RAM. The graphics card is also important, but only where it's applicable, and not every task in those productivity apps take advantage of the graphics card.

I suggest you go for a six-core Core i7 processor with at least 32 GB of RAM. It sounds like overkill, but depending on how your projects scale, having excess is a good thing, especially during crunch time.

P.S. There will be a new generation of six-core Core i7s based on the latest Haswell revision. There's even an eight-core variant (http://wccftech.com/intel-haswelle-core-i7-5960x-core-i7-5930k-core-i7-5820k-specifications-unveiled-flagship-8-core-boost-33-ghz), which is astronomically priced at $999, but if you have the budget, you may want to wait for that one. Their current six-core lineup is the i7-3xxxX and i7-49xx which is still based on Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge respectively.
