Update:

Painting some sp120 quiet edition rings to see how they look next to my mobo.

-snip-

I was going to do something like this on my upcoming build, but i decided to go with another color scheme. Curious to see how it turns out  :D

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

I think that'll probably look really good.

I had to use modelling paint since I could find this shade of yellow in a spray can, so hopefully my painting skills won't fail me!

You could always paint in plastidip to see if you like that shade and than go over it with a different kind of paint like vinyl dye.

It might make the rings difficult to re-apply though if I add to many layers and make the ring thicker.  Not sure though, maybe I'll try doing that with the red/blue rings since I'll never need them

Performance PC's responded to me, they test-fit the EK r9 290x backplate with an R9 290X heatkiller block, they said it appeared that it'd work!

Here's the waterblock I'll be getting by the way guys:

Here's the pictures they sent me:

Also, I'll be doing another update in a couple hours to show you guys how the paint turned out on the SP120's next to my motherboard.

Could you PM me and we discuss?

Watercool and Aquacomputer make some of the best looking blocks. EK is minimalist and clean which I personally, so it is a personal choice.

I really like the aquacomputer one for the 290x, but I don't like that weird metal plate that says '3d graphics" or whatever it says.

I somewhat like the EK blocks for the 290x, but I'm unsure what I want yet, I think this one is one of the best looking IMO, but I think I'll have to continue shopping around before I purchase

Which one do you like most guys?  I put the CPU block I'll be getting in the middle, so I can see what people think matches best.

I really like both, but I just can't decide lol

I don't know I'm really feeling the first one but it looks like it would hard to clean and would look disgusting if you let it get dirty.

Thats a tough choice.  I think the one on the left looks better by itself, but the one on the right matches your CPU block better and because of that, I would go with the one on the right.  Just my opinion, I really prefer uniformity in my builds.

You won't be able to see it in the case, so don't fret too much about looks. Get the backplate you want— EK has anodized aluminum versions in many colors.

I think he got the windowed R4 so he will probably see it.
