A good thing about Uplay 0_o

Coombzy

So I was sitting there waiting for The Crew to download and I saw a bar that looked different.

I was surprised to find out that it means I can play the game before it's done downloading like on the PS4. I suspect it to be buggy but hey I get to play early what do you guys think about it? do you think Steam and Origin should try and do the same?

Huh, that's cool. But how does it work? What exactly takes up the other four fifths of the download that isn't necessary for the game to work?

The PS4 can do this, so I imagine it uses the same system.

Blizzard games also have notably done this for quite a few years, I think WoW was the first game I saw it on.

Wait, steam doesn't do this? I know Blizzard has been doing it for years, but I wait for games to finish downloading/updating anyways

Uplay implemented it and it appears to be the only good thing about Uplay so far.

Steam does this on some games (1st party only maybe?), I think HL2 was the first I can remember being able to do it on.
