Buying a modem from overseas

Wysoseriouss

Hey guys

I've been shopping around for the best price on the ASUS AC66U modem, and it seems the best place I can get it from is Amazon US. Problem is, I'm in Australia. I was wondering if a modem bought from the US would work here in Australia. I'm aware that I would need to get a new power cable, but I'm more concerned about potentially different internet standards, things like that.

Cheers

According to ASUS' website, the AC66U is a router, not a modem.

Huh, that changes things, I guess the question still stands, cause the AC68U, which is a modem/router, not just a router, is like $100 cheaper on amazon than anywhere I've found in Aus so far.
