Dell u2414h bright spot

Hello i just got the Dell u2414, it is the best i've owned but over last few days of using it a bright spot well more like a bright patch has developed and it is rather annoying is the monitor faulty? e.g a damaged polarizer or something. Any help would be help would be greatly appreciated :)

 

Also turning the brightness all the way down does nothing it stays brighter then the rest of the monitor.

I'm currently at work and the monitor is at home so not possible sorry.

Like the other person said I would upload a photo and show us. Based upon what you are saying it does sound a little faulty but upload and then we shall see!
