Review Needed on 1st time build

I want to use this build for gaming, one monitor maybe 2 in the future, occasional large spreadsheets, and i don't plan to upgrade a lot.

Will it be good for this?

Will not change the CPU to AMD most likely will not change the GPU to AMD either.

Everything is amazing besides

The LED fans. I would get quiet editions instead.

Also try to get a bigger SSD. So worth it. 

I would go EVGA for the GPU though. Better cooling and support.

Other than that, pretty amazing.

For 2.4k its hard to go wrong. If you can afford that, go for it.

With all due respect CoolBeans, you have answered on all of my topics them and i have made it pretty clear that your route isn't the route that i'm going to take. I just wanted to make sure the changes that I made were good, and I wanted to get a second opinion.

Also, the reason i keep making new forums is that the old forums essentially die after a few hours.

I am going to assume that this build is purely for gaming.

 

In my opinion, in terms of gaming the most important parts to spend money on are the GPU and SSD. Most games are not CPU intensive (and doesn't use that many cores). You can get away by downgrading to an i5 4690k without sacrificing much gaming power for that reason. You could also cut back on the GPU and get an MSI GTX 780. The main difference I believe between a GTX 780 and a GTX 780 Ti is the floating point performance. It doesn't really aid in gaming.

 

I would suggest a 250GB or 500GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD and drop your 1 TB harddrive. Unless you are really hogging lots of data and 500GB isnt enough to hold everything.

The 840 Evo is a cheaper line that performs just about as good as the intel. Unless you were in a demanding RAID config, I would suggest the 840 Evo. It's under the 840 Evo and Intel 730, but it is one of the better price per GB out there. If spending a little extra isn't a big deal then go for the Evo.

I would drop the expensive motherboard and go for something like the Gigabyte Z97 Sniper or Gigabyte gaming 7. Unless you need the features on the MSI then you are overspending.

I am actually just going to go with a 250gb ssd and a 1tb hard drive now. I'm thinking about the MSI gaming 7 because it is cheaper by about 30-40 dollars, this build was originally a $2000 build.

I have never been a fan of Asrock boards. They had a lot of quality issues in the past. They might be better now, but I still wouldn't buy one.

 

Out of your other choices I would opt for the MSI Gaming 7, although i would personally go for the Gigabyte Gaming 7 as it is virtually the same price  :) I like the quality of Gigabyte boards, and they have good warranty support (At least here in UK) Also the gigabyte board has a 4 year warranty whereas the others are 3 I think.
