Don't use Windows Vista. Upgrade to 7 or 8.1. Buy a new liscence.

I should be studying.

I'd post a link to g2a.com for a cheap Windows 8 Pro licence (bellow 40€), if that website weren't down ATM...

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Suit yourself. I personally prefer Windows 7 over 8, though...

I'm in that camp as well, however, 8.1 did make significant changes which for me, make it tolerable.  The two biggest things is the start button that lets you flip between desktop and start tiles/apps etc.  and the bigger of the two in my mind, you have a taskbar to show what's currently open and running and when you go to any app or program you have the standard minimize/resize/close with the X.

I'm not sold it's better than 7, but after toying with 8.1, I have it to a point where I'm ok with it.  And because I got 8.1 pro for less than 20 bucks, why not?  Linus did testing that shows 8.1 gets slightly better framerates, and 8.1 is supposed to be a lighter OS all the way around.  So. Yeah, I'm 8.1 in spite of all my anger over 8.0.

You can use that Win7 key with new system as well. But only in one system at the time, AFAIK. I've heard people running several under one license but can't be certain.
