RM850 is just fine, you only need a 750w one.

RM 850, 1000W is overkill and you won't see power needs going up in the future, you might even see them go down.

Neither  :)  Go for the EVGA Supernova G2 850W if you can get it.

oh for balls to the wall crying out loud stop recommending the corsair RM

when are people going to realize that it's not a good PSU? Just because it's heavily advertised by linus does not mean it's a good product. There's much better power supplies you can get. Want a good PSU? EVGA 850G2 or Cooler Master V850

A 750W will be more than enough to power this system unless you plan to add a third one in the future. The Seasonic X750 would be a good choice.

Those may well be better choices, but that doesn't mean the RM series is bad. It offers good performance and a great feature set for the price. For a metal box which makes magic happen, I think mine works pretty damn well.

Except the EVGA is cheaper, superior, has a longer warranty, and has the same hybrid fan mode. The internals are pretty average in the RM for the price charged.

The RM series from my personal experience is an amazing PSU. My favorite part, if you're looking for a quiet PSU this is the one to get. My fan almost never comes on unless im doing some massive oc'ing which is my personal favorite part about this.

However, your fan will probably turn on sense you said you have 2 R9 280x's. But even when my fan did turn on it was hardly audible.

Along with the fully modular interface it is a great buy, and something Corsair did with there PSU's was make all the modular cables completely black, this looks fairly slick and overall just "nicer."

The EVGA has hybrid fan mode and is a much better all round psu. It is a shame that Corsair moved away from Seasonic and decided to use cheaper oem's to build their psu's and to use  cheaper internal components, whilst still charging premium prices.

coolermaster V series are from seasonic and the fan is dead silent, it's always on, but you can't hear it even if you put your ear next to it

tried it when i was putting together my pc and assembled everything outside the case, the psu was dead silent
