Selling your Steam Trading Cards

Selling your Steam Trading Cards

I don't know about you, but I had a large collection of cards that I was just going to do nothing with. I mean, it seemed like every new game I got I got a bunch of cards that did very little without paying money for more.

Today, I decided to sell of all my cards. I still have around 30 more cards to sell, but I've already made ~£2.40, which is more than enough to get a DLC or even a whole game on sale.

Step 1

Navigate to your Inventory (click on your name in the main Steam bar and select 'Inventory') and select a card you would like to sell, and remember the 'Starting at' value

Step 2

Click the 'Sell' button, and you'll be presented with this box

In order to ensure a quick sale, enter the 'Starting at' value into the 'Buyer pays' box. If you feel like you could get more, then put it for more, but you'll probably be sitting on it forever as people are cheap and won't pay more than the minimum.

Click the confirmation button twice and your item will be on the market place! The nice thing about the market place is that buyers can place an order for a card and steam will distribute the stock of cards for sale. As such, a buyer doesn't have to look at your card specifically for it to sell, so it should sell relatively quick.

Thank you for looking at my quick guide. I honestly never buy cards and don't go for badges, so the little bit of extra money is very nice, especially as you tend to get all the card drops for a new within 1 minute of playing it. Hell, in games that you can alt-tab out of without them crashing, you can leave them sitting at the title screen and still get the card drops

I craft badges for all the games I really like. I sell the trading cards of other games to fund my badge obsession.

I should be studying.

It's half guide, half PSA. I wasn't quite aware just how much money you could get for free for this (£2.40 may not be alot, but it's still significant as you can buy games like Just Cause 2 with this when it's on sale, which is an awesome game to get effectively for free.

If you get all the cards for a specific game you can craft a "Badge" for that game. You can do this multiple times. Each time you craft a badge you get a random assortment of items. For instance, when I crafted my Alice and Richard badge, I got 66% off Hammerwatch
