Bitfenix Prodigy - Fallout 3 Case Mod - Vault Boy

Thats a nice shade of blue. @ciobanulx

Thats a shame about that mesh, it looked really good, gave it that nice industrial look, like it was a heat shield or something.

I almost forgot, what kind of tubing are you going to use? Just got done running the flex hose on my larkooler system, Immediately ordering rigid because flex hose is a nightmare lol.

Yea I also love the look of that blue, came out better than I expected :D

Come to think of it, you're right about that mesh. I would of went nicely with the fallout theme. Oh well, hopefully it looks good just with the acrylic.

And I'm definitely going to run rigid tubing. Used the primochill with their ghost fittings in my last build and I love the look of it. Don't think I'll ever use soft tubing again. I got some 12mm OD EK tubing already and some Bitspower Enhance fittings, so I'm gonna use that this time. I got a couple of fittings in my last order from PerformancePCs just to get a feel for them and I really like them. So once I'm ready to order all my waterblocks I will be getting all the fittings as well. Though I'm kinda taking it one step at a time as I can't afford to buy all this at the moment to finish the build. Still being a uni student with a casual job haha, so I'm pretty much saving every dollar, just like I did with my last build, took me more than a year to get it how it is now. Anyways I'm just rambling now lol ... Glad you like the build man :D. Thanks

Hi everyone. I just assembled as much of the case as I could. I need to get some more screws and vinyl for the front and side panel acrylic and then the case will be complete.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend !!! Also happy 4th of July to those from the US :D

Here's how the case looks at the moment

I reckon the paint turned out pretty good. Luckily I didn't go ahead with the clear paint that I had purchased. I tested out the clear on a spare piece I had painted blue before painting the case to see how the blue looks like and it just ruined the paint, went all wrinkly. They were probably not compatible or something, I dunno much about paint. So in the end I just polished the case to make it nice and shiny.

Let me know what you guys think :D

nice. you gotta remember to sand inbetween coats when painting ;) so if you put 3 coats of base you sand 3 times before putting the clear on. paint doesn't like sticking to shiny surfaces so you gotta scuff it up slightly before painting

This looks real nice, good to see you put a lot of time and thought into it.

not sure what it will be like when you add yellow but for now i like it. i have a blue case and most people slated it, however now more and more people are going for different external colours it makes it more cool.

black cases are old, plain and boring.

got to love Asus components

Thanks. Yea I did put a lot of time and thought into it. It's easier to do that when you already have a working build haha :D. Glad you like it, I just wanted to have a go at modding and wanted something different :P:D

Hello everyone, thank you for the kind words and for liking what I have done with the case so far. Here's a small update:

Still haven't finished the front and side panel acrylic, had work today. Hopefully tomorrow, but I just thought I'd show you some of the yellow bits today :D. The yellow looks much more vibrant in real than in these pics.

So these are the two dust filters I wanted to use on the top and have the fans pushing air in from the top and out through the front. Though I don't really like the look of them and also they don't sit well. I got them because they are magnetic but unfortunately the Koolance shroud is not metal. And also one of them didn't turn out good as you can see in the pic. So does anyone have an idea of what dust filters I can use, something that looks reasonably good and I can just stick on top and remove them when I wanna clean them??? Or how to make these work and maybe fix the messed up one??? I want to do this because I'm obsessed with cleaning my PCs and also my house gets dusty pretty quick no matter how much I clean it, I live next to a fairly large busy road :(

That yellow is the perfect shade of Fallout...if there is such a thing haha.

I didn't bother with filters on the 140's seeing they are exhaust, plus i like the look of bare fan blades spinning around, more industrial.

Thanks mate. Yea haha it does looks like the vault boy yellow :D.  I also like the look of bare fans and I would do exhaust on the top if I didn't wanna add those radiation grills to the front and also a piece of acrylic over them like in singularity computers, so I can't put dust filters on the front. I'll see if I can find a way to make these ones work on top and fix that ugly one lol
