Post Your 3D Models/Creations Here!

I used the foam output of the ocean modifier for displacement with adaptive subdivision, but the ocean modifier is already subdividing the plane. So I am ending up with an incredible amount of vertices.

Is there a way to get a bump map out of the ocean modifier so I can feed it into the displacement node?

Hm! Not sure. I'll do some experimenting today and see what I can discover.

I always feel so inferior with my modeling skills whenever I look at this thread.

The trick is turning that feeling into rage and a drive to get better than the people you see in this thread.
....worked pretty well for me so far :P

A little more displacement fun.

Nice!
Have you seen the models floating around with finger smudges and the like?

Thank you!

Yes but I don't have an idea yet how to generate a finger smudge texture yet.

Its easy enough,  just mix up a noise texture node into the roughness of the glass - go from there.
Or for more realism - find a finger pattern brush in photoshop and just paint a roughness map with it.
Same thing I've used for making ice sheets with more variation.

Moire and smudge but I am not that happy with the smudge yet.

Was this done in Keyshot? It's a beautiful render.

Blender and its Cyles renderer, Photoshop to convert the screenshot to a "subpixel matrix".

My first Blender cli render on Amazon's EC2 Linux instance

The bool modifier seems to behave differently. $0.45 wasted xD

Perhaps its running a different version - they did add some new options to booleans in 2.78

Little bit of a new original project of mine.
'Soulcat' - for the Star Wars inclined; it's a long-range survey ship based on both Nubian and Mon Cal design.

Also - this planet.
16K textures with a volumetric atmosphere. Takes about an hour to render at 8k resolution.

You are right

I did not expect that 2.76 is the most recent version which is included in the official ubuntu ppa

Edit:

Much better now

Decided to start up Zbrush again it's been a long while so I had forgotten how to use it completely but making a little cell shaded game demo so I've been throwing around ideas for a character came up with a panther human hybrid so decided that would be a good place to start. did a quick little preview render of what I've done so far this is just a low poly model with very little detail it's just for blocking out shapes final character will be more cartoony but thought this render looked kinda cool so here it is in all its terribleness :P

That bad huh? :P I thought I should point out when I said low poly I was talking in relation to zbrush its low for zbrush not enough polys to add real detail just to get the general shape crazy high in respect to a game but you got to go up in order to go down.
