Aussie in need of advice and guidance

Hi Internet land

i am planning on building a rig in the next 2 months i am currently set on buying the following

 CPU: AMD FX-9370

MOBO:  ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer Motherboard

Ram: G.Skill Ares F3-1866C9D-8GAB 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3

GPU 2X:  XFX Radeon R9 280X Double Dissipation 3GB

 GPU waterblocks: EK-FC R9-280X DCII

i plan on running Primochill rigid 1/2 with the Rigid Revolver Compression Fitting 3/8" x 1/2" Diamond Knurled from Primochill.

i have and plan to use my  SSD's and my Corsair HX-1050w atx

i have 2 280 Alphacool T60s and 140mm fans for them  and a pump/ Res the Xspc X20 750.

my issue is that i have no idea what Cpu block to get to fit the large rigid fittings on? as well as if i have picked the correct fittings for the  hardline tubing?

p.s. if it possible. i would like to get  the rest of watercooling parts  from one site i'm currently looking at perfomance-pcs.com.

@Geekazoid Would be a great person to ask when he comes online. :)

@SAV1OUR is also a good person to talk to.

I would get an 8350 and use the money fro a 290. Otherwise it looks good.

if you want to look at an aussie site you can look at PCCG as they are the only ones in australia that sells wc gear. i would agree with everyone and get either 8350/8320 as the 9370 is just oc version of those chips. secondly i dont think that pump will be strong enough for what you plan on cooling. your best bet would be either a laing ddc or d5 pump. there is alot of rebranded versions of said pumps from all leading brands

Spoiler

  thanks guys for the help

my budget is close $2k and as i'm fitting all this into a custom  desk/ case that i'm building. I've always liked to look of the SLI /Xfire GPU's

as i currently have an old school I7 930 at 3.5ghz and 2 GTX 660's 2gigs. i was thinking of the 8350 but wasn't exaclty sure. and  not to crash hot on the 290 as it would be about the same price with the block as the 2 280s

so far i have gotten  my gear from PCCG  but they don't stock very much WC gear for a hardline set up

Any of the big names will fit, most people go for EK.

You'll struggling to get primochill revolver fittings anywhere. I had PCCG special order some but they didn't tell me they arrived, they also didn't come up on their front page for new products so it was actually a fluke I got them. I have 10x black I left over I can sell you if that helps.

I could be wrong but most blocks come with adapters to fit both teams now right? It will say in the description and performance wise nearly all waterblock a are within a couple of degrees of each other so it's more which one has the looks you're after.

If you do start looking at Performance-PCs or FrozenCPU let me know. I have 1 item if like to tack into your order and will contribute to ship if you don't mind :)

Revolvers are are smaller than 3/4 compression fittings so should fit near anything.

Yea PCCG and The Koolroom are pretty much the only site in Aussie that sell WC gear. There used to be GAMMods but that closed down recently.

As for the CPU block I would go with the EK Supremacy whichever version of if you prefer. I can tell you for sure that those fitting will fit on it given that I have one with two Primochill Rigid ghost fitting on it, same size as the revolver ones.

Also if you plan on getting all your WC gear from one place, which is recommended if you're planning on ordering from the states to save shipping costs, either Performance-PCs or Frozen-CPU will have everything you can possibly need for WC lol. Sometimes they have some price differences so what I usually do is I make exactly the same cart with both of them and the check the total as well as the shipping cost and go with the cheapest option.

Hope this helps. Cheers, Alex.

If you're buying a whole system worth it can be cheaper to get from FrozenCPU or PPCs. PCCG seem to be getting less and less items so I'm interested to see if they are looking to get out or not of the WC stuff as it probably doesn't move enough, fast enough for them.

and you're right mate PCCG have really start to drop the ball in the WC department as well as their shipping  is getting slack took them 4 days  weekdays to ship my parts that they had in stock and was all paid for

thanks everyone for the advice and guidance all i have to do is spend a this weekend fitting and heat bending all the pipes as well as install the GPU which should be abit of fun
