Canned Air alternative

Puma911

Hey I heard JJ in a newegg video talking about a device he uses as a canned air alternative. I think the thing he described was a simple pump that built up pressure he could then release through a nozzle or something. Anybody know where I can get something like that? I'd probably save a fortune on canned air if it lasts.

Rest in peace, legend.

This. You can get them in all shapes and sizes. I've got one for my air tools. So I just use that. Some other uses are: pressurize sprinkler system, paint things, air powered potato gun...

The world is your oyster when it comes to haunt fun with air.

Never say it's not broken. Everything is broken. Why? Because everything needs MOAR POWA!

Aren't you supposed to grab your fans so they don't spin and don't induce electriucity? :D

I personally think compressors are too expensive to use them just for blowing air at dusted stuff. :D an air can is like 5 bucks. it lasts longer than i expected.

who cares...

Air compressors are a very useful tool if you are a handy person.

They are worth every cent in my opinion.

I think people are more likely to have an air compressor than a tractor.

Air compressors are cheap and work great. You'll get it spotless. BUT

BE CAREFUL! If you live in a really dry environment like the south US with low humidity using a strait air compressor can cause static electricity.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I don't clean very often so I still use canned air. I like to point it up while holding upside down to release the liquid into the air; it's like instant air-conditioning. :P

Exactly. Especially in the summer. But my dad is too cheap to buy even one can.

find an expired BBQ gas cylinder for free , they are usually chucked away due to retesting them is more expensive than new ones and there is usually nothing wrong with them, just check to make sure its in good. Adapt the top so it will take a tire inflator nozzel so then you can charge it up for free at the gas station. Charge it up to highest pressure (this wont be anywhere near the gas pressure that was pumped into to so its safe as). Just need an air blow gun / duster gun and if you want to add an air reg and water trap, thats a bonus. My setup cost about $10 all up   Will last for several  clean outs  OR  as the others say, get a cheap compressor, but then you pay for the power too. If you can build a computer, this will be easy.
