Computer Heating Up My Whole Room

I have a Core i5 4670k overclocked to 4.5 GHz and a GTX 650ti Boost. My i5 is cooled with the h100i. With my computer off my room is about 72 degrees but with it on its 80 degrees. Opening a window and turning on the AC had no effect. Of I lower my overlock will my room be cooler? I first noticed it was hotter when I started overclcocking. Thanks!

Yeah that's why you have that fancy cooler after all, to vent to heat produced by an overclock. :P

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

If you turn down the overclock, it'll cool down the CPU, which will then cool down the room. The heat from your PC has to go somewhere, and if it's near you, you're going to feel it pretty quick.

Why would you turn on your AC & open your window? All that cool air is just rushing out the window due to positive pressure in your house.

I have a floor fan I use to circulate the air in my room. It really helps.

Yeah I  know... I was just trying to say that running without an OC the PC will run much cooler and not spit out as much heat into the room

In all seriousness though, thats just one of the side effects that come with owning a high-end PC. Consider yourself lucky, my R9 290 + 4679k will heat up my room to almost unbearable levels after just 20 minutes of gaming.

This really made me LoL and made everyone at work look at me.

Speaking from my personal experience. Pre overclocking during summer ambiant temps my room was around 75-80 F. (don't run AC unless needed & I like it hot) CPU would get up to 55 C. Now post OC during summer months my room gets up to 82-86 F and CPU gets to 59-61 C. A simple floor fan made the room tollerable for me.

well, i don't skimp on nothing, since my father is paying the bill :P , air conditioner all summer long accept at night, things chill a little, so my room never goes above 30 and my CPU with a Dark Rock 2 never passes the 50C° mark :D

The down side of being an adult and paying for your own utilities. Bright side with no kids eating up all my paychecks I can save up fast for major purchases. Hehe.

I moved out from my parents and bought my own place almost 2 years ago. Its a freeing experience. Also good luck getting girls to come over to your parents when you're in your early 20's. But I'm getting off topic. Noticed OP hasn't came back since he/she started this thread.

yeah OP went way ! i know how exiting of an experience it is, and about the last bit a bout girls, my religion doesn't allow to do that like, "hit it and quit it" with a girl, every thing is almost allowed but from that ! and you're right, we're dragging this thread off topic
