A new case

Azivegu

Hi,

I want to make a new gaming rig sometime in the near futur, but I have some requirments that I am finding hard to meet.

The case I want to build is going to be water cooled, but I want it to go further than just that.

What I want:

-A case with a window (who doesnt like looking at their precious)

-I want two compartments: one for MB and GPU (enough for the big ones) (we will call this the MB Case) and another for the rest (HDD's/SDD's, PSU, pumps and everything that doesnt need to be on the MB) (we will call this the Rest case)

- the MB Case must be closed off from the outside world (I will be cooling the MB, RAM, GPU and CPU with water) so no dust can get in. Holes for cables and tubes are allowed if they have bristles.

- the Rest Case needs room for a 4x120mm water cooler or equivelant

- at least 2 USB ports (with preferance for 3.0) on the front and a restart button would be awesome (for when I do OC tests) and an Audio out jack port

I would prefer a black case as I am going with a ROG MB and I like simple cases with not to much flare.

Also a cube case where the MB Case is on top with the window also on top would be nice, as it will be next to my desk, but just slightly lower (I have an extra table for it)

Anybody know of anything?

The NZXT H440 is nearing what I need, but I am going to be really OCD when it comes to dust. I really want total isolation of everything that is going to use a fan so no dust gets in. Dust filters are okay, but only for the fanned parts.

Corsair Obsidian Cases, 750D ecc... They have lots of dust filters and after nearly 6 months, I had to clean the filter for the first time. It's great

  • 2 months later...

Sometimes I get the feeling that I am the only one who wants a dual compartment atx case. Only one out there is the Corsair Carbide 540, but I dont like that it only has 2x 3,25" mounts. My usual config is 2HDD's, 2SSD's and a DVD/BR. The Lian Li D600 has what I am looking for, only the size of it is a problem for me.

Just want a case where I have my rads, mobo and gpu on one side and the psu, resevoir, hard drives, dvd and others on the otherside.

Edit: incorrectly called the Corsair Carbide 540 the Corsair Obsidian 540

I don't get how you want your GPU to be disconnected from MotherBoard and lay on the other side of case. You can't connect it with SATA xD And I have never seend PCI adapters that would allow that...

That's a weird dream you have mr. Azivegu.

he wants mobo and gpu in the same compartment, and other components in the 2nd compartment

all i can think of are the corsair carbide 540, or silverstone node 804, tho, you'll have to be pretty crafty to fit everything in that, for sure no 4x120mm rads :D

or if money is not a problem, maybe some of caselabs case would suit you

Go over JayzTwoCents site and look at his Skunkworks build. The case is a CaseLabs SMA8 and it looks fantastic. CaseLabs are very pricey but that would do everything for you. And they are completely customizable.

Sir William of Orange: Corsair 230T - Rebel Orange, 4690K, GA-97X SOC, 16gb Dom Plats 1866C9,  2 MX100 256gb, Seagate 2tb Desktop, EVGA Supernova 750-G2, Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3, DK 9008 keyboard, Pioneer BR drive. Yeah, on board graphics - deal with it!

OH! So if you don't need to look at your HDDs, PSU n stuff than check out CoolerMaster HAF XB :D

If you get one with window on top (Or buy it from them), then you can see your cool system from top :D
