Welcome to the build log for Project Contrast! Right away I would like to preface that this is my first ever build log and water cooling loop so there are bound to be some mishaps. When I first saw the NZXT H440 I completely fell in love, I absolutely loved the minimal look and clean design and I knew I had to get my hands on one. That's exactly what I did! My PC has been running solidly in this case for around a month now but I think it is time to take it to the next level, and that is where the idea of this project comes in. The main idea is to have a full water cooling loop and have the whole build follow white/orange color scheme. Obviously in order to follow the color scheme I am going to have to do some custom painting on my white/black standard case. The loop is going to be done using hard line tubes (ambitious for my first loop) with white compression fittings and orange coolant. Anyway that is the main idea of the project, so lets get into it!

I love the large text and components. I'll be waiting for updates.

I totally agree, it's rather annoying that they only changed the colors on the black case.

Thanks, I should start beginning in the next week or so hopefully.

the motherboard tho... whythat one

I know :/ It's my current one and I don't have a justifiable excuse to get rid of it other than the color. I might try to see if I can somehow get hold of a black/orange one.

Your ambition is exciting. I look forward to seeing it progress.

Thanks!

I agree but I will already be spending a lot on this project and I would like to not increase that if possible.

The colour scheme makes me think of Portal.

Oh wow, that looks amazing. I would love to do that but my concern is that it will cause heat issue and/or kill the board.

Google Sketchup, great program and really easy to use!

That would have probably been my goto board if it wasn't Extended ATX, the H440 only fits standard ATX.

According to the guy that did it he didn't see any significant increase.

Should be ordering the water cooling components some time this week! Not sure whether I will be sticking with the orange/white color scheme, as good as it will look I can't see it working well with my current motherboard. I am thinking of changing to a light blue/white color scheme which I think will still look pretty slick, thoughts and opinions?

Blue/white has been done before... Stick with the Orange! It will be AWESOME! Orange is the new black, anyway.

Yes but I have a light blue motherboard and I cant get hold a nice one.. I was thinking of trying to get a Z77 Sabertooth and then spray paint the thermal armor white but that would be expensive to get a hold of.

I agree but my motherboard though :/

I'm pretty excited to see how this turns out! That raidmax power supply worries me though...

Why? It is because it is semi-modular so no sleeved cables?
