Help! black circles on bottom corner of screen

SnakeDoctor

I have a Benq RL2450HT monitor for about 2 years now... It was perfectly fine this morning, and just as I turned on my computer saw that the bottom corners have this dark quarter circles.

Is this repairable? or I pretty much have to buy a new monitor?

I believe that is an edge-lit display.. So a few of the lights went out.

Although this is technically "repairable".. The cost you would pay to get it fixed, unless you know what you're doing and diy, wouldn't be worth it.

Seems like when I turn my monitor off, and on... the screen is completely lit for a few seconds and then reverts back to that.

@SnakeDoctor, that looks rather interesting :P. Yeah, that is definitely not normal. Like @MrYuriy indicated, it might be best to get a new display :(. I think this time, go for an IPS display, unless you like your 120/140Hz refresh rate for gaming, because they're so much better than TN monitors. :D

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

Hmm... I had the monitor turned off all night, and now the black circles are all gone!

I google'd about it, and it could have been some electromagnetic build up in the monitor.

Edit: nope, problem's back... called Benq for RMA.
