AMD FX 8320 and 780ti ? Bottleneck yes or no ?

DSwinney

do you need a dictionary definition on negligible?

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/negligible

I understand, you said it will, I said it won't at all.

You would be wrong then, every setup will have some sort of a bottleneck, the majority are just negligible so you never notice it.

Ty guys for the quick replies , yeah ino the idle option would be to get the 4670k but i already have the 8320 and I think overall performance would be increased by getting a new gpu instead of a new cpu and mb combo. When Intel decides to release their refresh of cpu's i might pick one up then but for now i'll be sticking with the 8320.

All this talk of bottleneck can be confusing, but I'd say that as long as the CPU is capable of handling AI and physics while maintaining playable framerate, it's a peachy to me. See my 2nd rig? FX8350 + 2x GTX670 and all games are playable, I can't comment about online MP games though as I don't play 'em, just SP campaigns for me.

Heck, I have a C2Q X9650 at 3.7ghz + HD7970 rig, all games are quite playable even with this old CPU. There's always bound to be some sort of bottleneck in any given system, but as long as the bottleneck isn't severe and gameplay is smooth, it should not matter. Like the FX CPU's, only time I get poor 'performance' is when I run synthetic benchmarks like Fire Strike, Star Swarm and the like......my C2Q and the FX aren't exactly great for them. Personally, I don't care as long as gameplay is smooth...
