What Sapphire 280X version is best?

ZacDaMan72

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade from my 270X to a 280X around Christmas time so I have 2 questions.

1. What is better, the 280X Tri-X, Dual-X and the Vapor-X. I live in New Zealand so here is a local site to check prices. http://pricespy.co.nz/category.php?l=s169987798&o=produkt_pris_inkmoms#prodlista

2. Is it worth the upgrade when the new Nvidia cards (Maxwell if I can remember) are coming out soon?

Thanks!

I would just get the cheapest one since imo its not worth paying more as the Sapphire Dual-X card is not bad in terms of cooling and it a good cooler for overclocking imo.

sounds like you got time to save.
see whats available when the time comes to buy

one aus retailer dropped $100 on a gigabyte 290... works out to be $50 more than their 280x

See what's out at the time.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, maxwell was delayed.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

It was annoying since they released that promo the day after they shipped my 280X. Even more annoying is everyone's offloading their mining gear so its raining used 280X's in some australian PC forums.

Would it be a smart decision to get the 280 non x?

Actually no. There's less stream processors but the one I'm looking at (Gigabyte) has a higher base clock of around 75 but 1000mhz less on the memory.
