So amd has a countdown timer and they said that they will be announcing something soon. Maybe a new cpu? I don't know, any guesses

The secret is out, its Beema and Mullins, amd claiming 2x more performance per watt over previous mobile apus. Sorry no FX for those who were hoping :( .

they keep going on about adobe so im guessing it may be something to rival intels 2011 cpus?

From the silicon it looks more like  cpu than a gpu. 

 

I'm think a mobile chip. From the image it would appear to only have 2 cores. But that doesn't support the more openCL perform they tweeted. 

 

EDIT: in comparing the image to other APU's they look very similar. 

 

New guess its a new APU.

 

 

My assumptions are based on the fact that silicone they have magnified is the actual product.

Make a line of CPU's that rival's intel's single core performance. 

 

What I'd like to see is some truly enthusiast grade hardware.  The 295x2 is imo in that category, and a line of CPU's that pushes the limits of what CPU's are capable of today would really make me a happy guy. 

But we all know it won't be that good, probably 32 cores and 9 terahertz clock speeds with still no single core performance (looking at you 9590)

Probably nothing major, just a marketing exercise,  leave the timer there and let everyone make assumptions and insinuations about what it is, which inevitably hypes it up for them.

The image does have a magnifying glass on one part so I'm guessing new technology/better performance for that specific area of the cpu? Or oveR9000 295x10

new APU line maybe? they've been pushing APU chipsets lately and Kaveri was hardly an upgrade over the last gen so maybe this is a new line of APU's that actually show some meaningful performance.

targeting the lower end market for smaller devices like tablets and below 13 inch laptops

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
