Screen Issues?

So is my laptop's display failing, or just defective?

The white's look a little yellow, and overall, the screen is way to dark...

Is there an issue? Because i remember that my screen is an IPS and when i first got it in 2012, the screen was AMAZING

 

EDIT: I dont mean that the backlight doesnt work, i mean that the colors look dark

mess with the color settings, probably will fix all of it.

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

My brother has this on his desktop monitor. The white turns to yellow where the exhaust fan of his pc was. Maybe its getting more and more yellow because of heat.

I think that it is heat because my laptop used to get extremely hot before.

go to resolution settings and it should be under advanced
