SSHD or SSD?

My hardrive has finally gave up and died.

What do you think is better?

128 gig ssd with 1 terabyte

or 2 terabyte sshd?

mainly for gaming and random use.

Thanks!

if you want to have something that will just work and will not require any effort on your part the SSHD is what i would go for

but if you are fine with telling software and other files where to go (most things will go to "C:" where your OS is installed by default) go with a SSD and a HDD

my computer beats all computers in a 1,000 NM radius

SSD+HDD proved to be a better solution for me in the early stages. I stopped using HDDs completely though and got a QNAP NAS some years ago (OK,was using HDDs in the NAS but cmon...)

I had some bad experiences with SSHD with my Mum's Computer. I ran into driver problems at first, after solving it it actually didn't make that much of a difference using it compared to a similar build without and SSHD but a good HDD in it. Startup was around 5 seconds slower, working with it in general was 1:1 the same speeds subjectively. It's nothing compared to the response times of a pure SSD. It might be 100$ less but to me it proved that an SSD is worth the money in 100% of the cases as long as you don't use your PC for WORD/EXCEL/E-Mail only.

My builds:

'Hlin' - UTM Gateway Server - Build Log
