Re-installing Skyrim, give me everything that's good

The_Strict_Nein

So I'm reinstalling Skyrim and it's been a while. I need to get up to date with the mods. And before you say it, I know everything that Gopher has covered.

What's recommended now a days then?

RAM: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RBG 3200MHz - GPU: MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO

Well, I've recently got back into Modding Skyrim as well so I'm fresh with great mods :P I guess you know all the core mods to install, the unofficial patches, SKSE, SkyUI etc.

My mod list is too large for me to tell you what you should have but honestly, go and checkout STEP Core. If you don't know what STEP is it's basically got all the essential mods you should have in Skyrim, like fixes or mods that add to Vanilla. Once you've done that you should look at GEMS which is more in depth and has a wider variety of mods.

Good luck in your new Skyrim modding experience :)

Once I finish modding my Skyrim this week I'll make sure to post some screen shots and my mod list too :P

When I had SKyrim installed before I did everything I could. I had over 200 mods installed most or which were visual mods. Lets put it this way the game looked better then any game that has ever been created. Higher resolution textures then Crysis all 8k textures found all over the web. I found a retexture for every in-game item except the dreaded spider eggs. I don't remember all the mods I used because there were too many but I did use an ENB (can't remember the name I am afraid) it had really nice lighting effects and the DOF effect I was using went really well with the ENB because it made candles go blurry when you were not looking at them I also had a candle mod that added more candles to the game. Mods to populate cities so there where around 100 people in a city at any given time. Cave texture which was my favorite texture out there. I will try and find some so give me a sec.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60/? Enhanced blood

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/141/?

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1111/? Pure waters. I used a custom version of this I found on the internet that someone altered for me and a few others. I cannot find that version for the life of me but it made the water slightly more clear but also added a retexture to the bottom of the ocean floors and rivers. It was a Gif. retexture so there was moving creatures at the bottom of the floor. It looked fantastic when viewing the rivers and streams. It was a pain to install though.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29608/? There might be a better version of this though.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4259/?

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4805/? Must have rock texture

There was a landscape retexture out there but I think it was taken down. It made the ground look great. Also a leaf mod is a must have which increases the amount of leaves falling from trees (I retextured the leaves to) as well as a snowflake mod which did the same thing.

I haven't played the game in over 6 months though so I would imagine that there are some mods I don't know about. But I do keep an eye out on the Nexus website for any gems. I didn't find any so i guess all the best mods are the old ones.

I use all those mods too! So I +1 them as a recommendation to anyone modding Skyrim with a good system :3
