ASUS PB278Q Owners

Geekazoid

Hi guys,

This is just a general thread asking if you own the ASUS PB278Q 27" PLS monitor. I've also included a poll with simple yes or no answers. Of course feel free to share how you're liking the monitor because I am thinking about purchasing this display myself.

Thanks in advance guys for answering the poll and for providing any comments.

Just the one.

Yeah, it certainly seems that way. That's partially what's leaning me towards it.

I love this monitor and I was just about to buy another one but, I think I will just buy a 4k monitor instead and use my current one as a secondary monitor.

I would still highly recommend buying the Asus PB278Q a lot it is very awesome.

If 4k screens were cheaper, IPS (or other good panel I'd guess) a jump from 1680x1050 to 3840x2160 would be absolutely gigantic. 4.7020408163265306122448979591837 times the resolution I currently use and 6,530,400 more pixels.

Well, just how everyone likes it. I thought about going with the PB238Q and then that got discontinued, then I thought about going with the PB248Q but found out that the PA248Q was better and then after that, after seeing that the viewing angles appeared to be better on PLS panels as well as the fact that I felt that I could use a larger workspace for my video editing work, I decided that I would like to go with the PB278Q.

I also will note that considering the PB238Q was discontinued and after much thought, I decided that I really wanted to stick to the 16:9 aspect ratio and so the PB278Q was what I decided on. Plus TFT Central's Simon Baker review on this exact display revealed the display uses a true 8-bit PLS panel which made me happy. He also revealed that it calibrates very well and that was music to my ears. :D
