who had data corruption on SSD

Florian11

Did anyone of you, who uses SSDs, ever have any Data corruption, because the chance of loosing data is higher on a SSD than on a mechanical hard drive?

And if you had one please tell me the SSD model!

but they loose data when you expect them to loose because they have a special lifetime and a SSD could loose data anytime.

Yes, on some old sandisk with a shitty sandforce controller.

I'm used to HDD's so I don't care that I don't have a ssd anymore.

You don't use SSD's anymore? Are you joking? This isn't 2008

Do you not notice the difference while booting?

Yes but i'd rather spend my money on a i7 then a ssd.

Yes Iknow I will have faster loading times in game like BF4 but I'm used to it.

That is why he said he doesn't mind because it's on 24\7. He doesn't need to boot that much.

But yes it totally matters when booting, it's actually crazy fast.

the main reasons for me buying a SSD are the long loading times in games like BF4

it's exactly the oposite, ssd's have a certain ammount of reads and writes that wear them down, you can monitor the health and how much you have used it, a hdd can break literally any time, because you never know when it's going to wear out or when something is going wrong with all the moving parts, but it's easier to recover your data from a hdd than an ssd, because the data on the ssd is a mess, and hdd are prone to impact dammage while ssd's are not.

24/7  :o

Not 24/7 but close to it.

Overnight I shut it down. But I use it the whole day so yeah a ssd would be nice tho.

If i want one i would need atleast a 240gb or 500.

Nope. And I think HDD's are more prone to damage because they have moving parts.

I would have to agree here, been using ssd's for the past year or so, no problems here. From my experainces ssd's are a much better choice for both speed and reliability. (Unless you have an op enterprise HDD)

I use both a OCZ Vortex and a 840 EVO samsung.

You might be able to get some old/refurbished seagate exterprise server drives. Most of these drives come with very fast rpm speeds. ;)

how is anything moving at 20000 rpm "safe"? that sounds like a deathtrap to me :P.

put it in a safe with venting holes so it doesn't jump out and kill you , not sure about you but i see ssd's are less volatile than hdd's.

Most exterprise server drives are very expensive, that's why I said old/refurbished :P
