Survival training.

You are now alone with nothing, nobody with you for 5000 miles.

You have jeans, t-shirt, laced shoes, socks, a beany hat.

You have a A4 sized map of which is not of the are you are in.

Your surroundings is a dense natural forest followed by rocky mountains, caves have been known to be found here, there is also a lake 50 miles north of you location.

You are in peak condition.

You now need to survive, chances are slim, only the fittest will survive.

In words, off you go.

in that scenario it sounds like you would have to find a way to sustain yourself regardless, doubt you would be found within the first couple of days either way, theres nothing more awesome than being in nature, nothing gives you more freedom, i would probably make myself a hut and take it from there, probably proceed to starve to death within couple of weeks .

I think i remember that in northern latitudes moss grows on the north facing side of trees. 

I'd hunt on the way with a sharpened stick and some rudimentary traps.

Dont forget you can live 3 weeks without food but only 3 days without water

 

So get water, try create shelter either in huts or maybe in a cave, make fire to keep warm at night - im sure in a dense forest area there will be all sorts of animals to eat, birds, rabbits, spiders to throw on the fire

Look for a cave as close to water as possible, chisel tracking marks on trees between the water source and the cave then make a fire and try to sleep a bit.

 

Day 2 go and look for animals/edible vegitation in that general area after a good drink of the water.

 

Day 3 attempt to make a fucking enormous signal fire.
