Mic for gaming, again

Andrew0472

I'm about to purchase a mic but i keep getting confused,

Basically i use a mic for dayz but mainly teamspeak 3. I use a logitech webcam at the moment which doesn't sound terrible but there is so much bass its just boomy to the point where sometimes you can't make out what i am saying.

The options i have from pccasegear.com are:

1. Blue snowball

2. Blue yeti

3. Pc 363d

4. idk if there is any else

Now i read everywhere that the clip on mics are good but if i go with a mic it will be used with my sennheiser hd 518's which i move around with alot so i don't mind paying more for a mic so i don't have to unclip and clip on a mic every time i play so in all im not really keen on a clip on. Now i am probably leaning towards the snowball because the yeti will be overkill but i keep seeing mixed reviews about it. My biggest fear is picking up to much background noise but i use push to talk in team speak so it shouldn't be too much of an issue i suppose.

However the other option is a headset, the 363d. Now if someone said the mic on the 363d is very similar if not better than the snowball i would pick up the headset for sure however i don't see that happening and it seems like a bit of a waste considering i have comparable headphones (the 518's already).

I'm sorry for the second post on this topic, everytime though i just get recommended the clip on mics and they aren't really what i'm looking for. So what is your opinion?

Watch out for the higher end microphones such as the Blue Yeti. I bought the Blue Yeti for gaming and the quality was horrible in games, it would jitter, cut in and out ETC, probably because of the high bitrate of the microphone.

The Blue Yeti was mine in Teamspeak though.

I would recommend a good headset, it would be much better for gaming, as it doesn't have the side effects of the standalone microphones do.

yeah i was thinking of going with the blue snowball, will cost about 125 bucks in comparison to nearly 200 for the yeti or 300 for the 363d (shipping included)

Does it have to come from PCCG?
If not maybe consider the Blue Snowball iCE, it is basically a cut down Blue snowball but sill decent. Amazon has it and ships it to AUS for $59 so good price.
Good little saving compared to some of the other offerings.

CORSAIR RIPPER: AMD 3970X - 3080TI & 2080TI - 64GB Ram - 2.5TB NVME SSD's - 35" G-Sync 120hz 1440P

Have had some issues with shipping times with amazon so i'm probably gonna go with pccg or something although its more expensive

I have never had this issue with my yeti, everyone comments on how awesome it sounds even using in game voice chat

I love my blue yeti as far as sound quality goes however it does pick up alot of background noise

Other mics I would recommend the Audio Technica At2020 very good condenser mic for the price

Also the Sure SM57, its a dynamic mic and it has a much smaller "cone", it is less sensitive to vibration and ambient sound and should be more directional than the condenser mics

i'm probably going to rule out the yeti because it seems to be very sensitive. I guess its now down to the 120 dollar snowball or basically 300 dollar pc 363d. My only hesitation of the headset is the mic quality after my experience with a previous astro headset was terrible.

I've got a PC360 which is pretty much the same, and that mic is pretty good.

Have you considered the ATH-ADG1? Seems kinda silly to me to buy a PC360 when you already have another Sennheiser.
