So they are non-removable?

AFAIK they are not removable unless you cut all the wires connected to them and re-soldier everything back on... Which you really don't want to be messing around with.

I REALLY wouldn't recommend it. You may be able to PlastiDip them very carefully but don't take my word for it.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

The pins that are soldiered on to the mobo yes. Not exactly something you want to play with Ninja.

People have done it before online. I don't think they are removable but you shouldn't harm them as long as you don't get paint on the contacts

I know people have masked off the motherboard all around the PCIe slots and spray painted them, then take an old graphics card and keep reinserting it to clean the contacts off. You could also try sticking some pieces of cardstock into the slots to somewhat cover them. I wouldn't exactly recommend it... but its an option.

At some point I'd like to try it on an old motherboard, throw in a GPU, and run some kind of benchmark to see what happens to it after a few months... As long as the paint is off the contacts against the card I don't see how it would cause any issues, since paint is non conductive it wouldn't fry anything if you didn't get all the paint off, it just wouldn't work until you cleaned it better.

As for removing them, definitely not something the average person could do.

mask everything you don't want to get painted and try on the bottom slot so if you mess up it wouldn't be that bad :D

People have painted it then just chipped it away by putting a card in and out
