Akolyte

I need help. A day after a built my system there's a really loud buzzing noise. I need help, I'm not sure how to fix it. Thanks in advance

Can you tell where it is coming from?

I'm guessing either my CPU cooler or my power supply. The funny thing is it started a day after I built my system

It may be the CPU fan vibrating against the metal heat-sink. Try remounting the fan. (Not the entire cooler)

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

If you have a liquid cooler it might be that, in which case it may be a defect (assuming it's an All-in-One). Otherwise it's probably the power supply. Make sure its that first though. also check to see if there are any wires hitting any fans anywhere.

I had the same problem. As best I could determine, it was the fan in my PSU (Corsair CX500M). Only it didn't start doing it until about a month after I built my rig. Sounded like a bad bearing grinding. I knew it was my PSU because tapping on it altered the tone it made, and in some cases caused it to stop entirely. Also, it mostly happened after restarting my system, but would go away after a while on its own.

Then it stopped doing it entirely. Fan was still working properly, nothing appeared to be wrong... so I let it go. I may regret that decision some day and wish I RMA'd it... but I've only had it for 4 months, so I can wait a while and if it starts doing it again, I'll probably request a new one from Corsair.

Okay, I reseated my cpu cooler fan after removing the memory and then put the memory back.  It seems to have stopped now but I'll wait an hour or so and see if it starts again.  Thanks everyone,  If it starts again I'll be sure to post back,

No... No i cant because that would probably be too much for me.  I'll only do that when I need too, if you ever build a computer you'll understand :)

He could, but that would be a bit impractical in this situation.

Check the speakers and/or headphones plugged into it to see it's not electrical interference. I've had instances of buzzing that turned out to my P.C. speakers reacting to some kind of process that was going on in my computer.

I've also read that loose labels can cause buzzing if there's vibration in the case.

Also, I think capacitors can buzz if they're nearing the end of their life, so if it's a second hand PSU you might want to check that also.

Uhh This is weird...  I removed the side panel to do some cable managment, and then started it up.  It made the sound again.  So I pushed the side panel and it stopped,  Then I shut it down and booted it up again.  This time I needed to press the top fan area for it to stop.  I seriously need help!  I hate this noise SOO MUCH!  D:

There really isn't anything more than adding some rubber between fan and case. That will reduce vibration but isn't guarantee to remove it.
