SSD RAID

Guest nightowl21

Is this an actually good and reliable way to to SSD's in RAID without wasting space? Are there better products that are similar?

I have the 2 x 2.5"  in a 3.5" bay I say go for it, thing is solid and works, well hard to do it wrong but hey you never know, but this brand is solid. Best way to jam a bunch of 2.5" drives in as compact a space, and you also get the hot swap component. Only two power connectors needed so it will also be a bit cleaner wire-wise.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

I just ordered the 'smaller' brother with that ODD drive bay (MB994IPO-3SB)

If you wait like 2 weeks i can test it and post the results in my NAS thread (can be found here).

In general it doesn't seem to me like it's anything special, most likely it's just the simplest of simple backplanes without any controllers, nothing you can do wrong with that.

But like i said i just ordered one of those Icy Docks and i can give you a review of the quality once it arrives.

My builds:

'Baldur' - Data Server - Build Log

'Hlin' - UTM Gateway Server - Build Log
