PSA for chrome users

BAD CHROME STOP IT
BAD

Sorry Chrome just pooped on my task bar next to my clock.

Mine just started doing this, but has apparently been around for a little bit.

To get rid of this, type "chrome://flags" into your address bar, find "Enable Rich Notifications" and set to disable.

Yay no more forced added features!

There are a lot more features within the flags tab. What are some tricks like this that you've started using on chrome?

I'm pretty sure people who use the LTT notifications extension should keep this enabled.

Pretty much this.

And just ignore them (hell, I think you can even set it to disable specific notifications).

Yeah, finding out now that it disable other things as well.

Rich notifications are really useful, especially for addons (and at some point I intend hopefully to add some vaguely similar features to Firefox), although I don't know why you were getting a clearly placeholder/non-production notification. But if you really don't like what Google is doing, click here (get Firefox).

Just use Windows API for toast notifications for Windows 8 users, and Balloon notification for previous version of Windows.

Why break your head with custom notification. Plus, it provides a more user consistent experience.
