difference between 3570k and 3570

the only difference i can think of is

3570k is unlocked (overclockable)

3570 is locked (cannot overclock)

3570k is unlocked (overclockable)

3570 is partially locked (can overclock to a small extend +x4 Mutliplier)

edit:

base up to 3.8Ghz

Turbo on 4 cores -> 3.9 Ghz

Turbo on 3 cores -> 4.0 Ghz

Turbo on 2 cores -> 4.1 Ghz

Turbo on 1 cores -> 4.2 Ghz

3570 is completely locked. that extra multiplier you see is the turbo clock, Whether you turn that up or not makes 0 difference.

Half right, technically the max clock on that turbo is the single core threshold. So only goes to 3.8GHz when 1 core is in use, you can make it run at max turbo on all cores.

Even my i5-3475S which is factory 'underclocked' to 2.9 Ghz can be overclocked to 4.0 GHz on a single core (3.9 on 2 cores / 3.8 on 3 cores / 3.7 on 4 cores)

The CPU multiplier changes dinammically anyway ... while surfing LTT it stays at 1.6Ghz - 1.8Ghz.

Not that I really care ...
