xeon for pc gaming

server, but there are some xeon CPU's that are basically an i7 without the integrated graphics and without the option to OC them

Xeons are primarily used for server environments or heavily multi-threaded workloads, but sure, they can be used for gaming no problem. From what I've seen, the Xeons on the current LGA1150 socket are really, really good.

It is a server CPU or workstation CPU not really meant for gaming. Certain xeons can be adapted for gaming, but still don't work as well as gaming oriented CPU's.

Does not having a second parenthesis around something bother anyone else as much as it does me? (Like if this statement was missing a second side)

depends on your mobo, not your GPU

Of course! :) Just like any other CPU, whether it be i5, i7 or Xeon etc, as long as it fits the motherboard's socket, it'll work :D

No, actually, Xeons on the 1150 socket work extremely well in games. They are pretty much i7s without integrated graphics or overclocking capabilities.

I'll be using a Xeon E3-1230 v3 for my build this year. Good value I think. Especially if you do any sort of video editing. :D

You can game and it may be better than 4670k as more and more games are using hyper threading
