Stuttering playing 4K video

Exother
Go to solution Solved by T.Vengeance,

Nah just flash sucks with 4k optimization.

Linus just posted his first 4K video I think. Tried it and my processor was running @ 100% and my video stutters and the picture and audio does not sync. ):

My comp specs are below, is it time for an upgrade?

I think it's you specs, that stuff was not meant for 4K.

Hmm, but which part do i need to upgrade?

maybe  just dont run videos at 4k...

Haha, technology advances too fast. Surely I wanna have the opportunity to enjoy it too ^^

Nah just flash sucks with 4k optimization.

O.o but there are some people which are able to run it smoothly. I guess its only a minority which includes me ):

I've done that long ago, if i change to 1440p it runs pretty smooth though.

The GPU and maybe the CPU.

I would say try for something like a 6300 or 760K and 750/750ti. That would be huge.

However the my GPU usage is as per normal. Prolly its just the processor itself?

Just an update, I changed to HTML and the video is running smoothly! Although still intensive on my CPU around 60-80% usage! :)

Also, running a 4k video is next to pointless if your monitor can't run at 4k.

What monitor/s do you have?

My thoughts exactly. The chances of the OP using a 4K monitor is slim to none.

@Exother, do you have VLC Media Player installed(http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html)? I found when dragging and dropping the YouTube's video URL for your chosen YouTube video onto VLC Media Player video plays back sooooooo much smoother because it's not playing it in the browser. Give that a whirl and see how ya go. Report back with your results. :D

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

This exactly. There is no point running video higher than your monitor resolution.

Could argue that scaling down a higher resolution on the fly is a better quality than YouTube does it with compression added.

it isnt, 4K on youtube has a much higher bitrate and will look alot better, even if youre watching on a 1080P monitor,
