No. You can overclock a 60hz IPS monitor though (however I wouldn't recommend that)

once you go up you cant go back but if you dont switch up you will be fine

I was at 120Hz and went back. 120Hz is REALLY smooth, but 1440P PLS makes it worth while to have 60Hz. I could see not wanting to go back to 60Hz 1080P though.

Its not just the frequency that makes TN better for its also the reduced blur. An IPS screen will take nearly all of the 16ms it has to switch the pixels, whereas a TN can now do it in 1-3ms. You can't just overclock an IPS screen and get 120hz out of it, most of the tests done on this monitors have shown they either drop the extra frames or don't handle the blur properly. There isn't an IPS 120hz monitor and I think we are quite a way from having one. I suspect  what will happen is that another panel type will get there first, probably OLED which will easily do 120hz  or a lot more. The main thing people want is true sRGB and ideally Adobe RGB standard gamut, with true 8 bit panels (without FRC). I suspect we'll see that in a year or two.
