Looking to upgrade from my samsung B300 to a ips panel that is sleek and looks good.

I was looking at the asus mx279 because it looks good in person and is sleek, is there anything else that is sleek and has a ips panel?

Don't buy a 27 inch  1080p  monitor. The ppi is too low. 

^ i would go for the 23 inch version of that monitor, or the AOC I2369V or I2367fh

Depends how far you are from it.

Well, this is what I would do.

I would go on ebay, search up 1440p ips monitor and get the cheapest one that met certain specs (reasonable brand, high rated seller, good reveiws, etc.) I got all 3 og my 1440p monitors for under $400 each

Build: Fx-8120@4.1ghz,  Gtx770@1.0ghz,  16gb Patriot memory,  Cheap case from thermaltake

Yeah, don't get the 27 inch version if you sit that close to your monitor. Thats actually way too close, most people sit a good 2 feet away from their monitors. If you want to go 27 inch, go 1440p
