Best "mp3 player" for audio quality and storage?

TeKNiQue

Recommend me some "mp3 players" that are of the more high-end sort and that has decent sound quality and also a decent amount of storage.

Also, is there a way to upgrade the 2,5" HDD to a bigger one in one of those 160GB ipods?

I personally don't enjoy 9-string guitars, but that doesn't change the fact that they look awesome as hell!

iPod Classic.

Yes, it's from Apple, but iPods are the best MP3 players in my opinion.

Tried the Astel&Kern (different model) in a headphone shop, and damn they were good. I think they also have built-in amp to drive those hard-to-drive headphones....

that's why it costs so much, because it has a decent amp.

i like how you say that a $700 mp3 player has a "decent amp"...

IMO $700 is a bit much for a player

I can't say much about it since I don't own it. However I can say the DAC is the best you can get.

Yeah, I'll stick with my $20 Sansa Clip.

Cowon makes good stuff too. Mo' better than iPods unless you're already chained to the apple ecosystem.

FIIO X3 OR X5 - best freaking dap in the world IMHO. get the x3 the x5 does not offer much bang for the buck.

and

IBASSO DAP Also good but the software is a bit buggy at times.

sacrifice some hdd space for a very long time lasting investment.

Just saw the specs, and they look awesome. Storagewise, this baby is a monster, with 256gb internal + max 128gb external = max 384gb.

Btw, to check the full specs + presentation, the official site is http://www.astellnkern.com/

The one I tried in the headphone store was the AK120 Titan

They should just make something you can plug an MSATA SSD into. Would solve anyone's storage space issues.
