gtx 660 or r9 270?

Abel225
Go to solution Solved by SAV1OUR,

Why is it better in this case?

the 660 a older card and when benchmark against each other the 270s better. now thinking about it i should have re worded it and said the 270's just better

Okay i asked something similar earlier. But i found out that this was a bit more then what i wanted but i will bend my budget.

other parts:

CPU AMD Athlon x2 760k (NOT AN APU)

8GB Kingston ram

gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-DS2

Thanks for the help!

sorry it is the athlon 2 x4 760k

Intel core I5 4460, Gigabyte H97M-HD3, Gigabyte gtx 760, 8 GB corsair value ram, Thermaltake core v21, Thermaltake Smart 630W PSU

Alcatel OneTouch D5... IT WORKS!!

Given that the R9 270 is newer I think it would be quite a bit faster than the GTX 660 IMO. So I'd say go for the R9 270.

the 270 is just a rebrand of an old card, nothing new there but the name.

@Abel225, you didn't think of going with the R9 270X as oppose to just the R9 270?

Nah. That is too expensive and as Linus said it is basically the same as a 270 but a bit faster clock speed.

edit. I checked the prices... it is 25 dollars more. And i already spend 25 more since what i planned.

I'd go for the R9 270, and for the CPU why don't you go for the AMD Athlon II x4 750k?

It's much worth it, the x2 you want is a dual core CPU while the x4 is a quad coreCPu which delivers much more performance for only 5 bucks more
