Pushing my luck with a EVGA 500B?

Go to solution Solved by Ryan Leech,

500W is enough even if you want to overclock it. The EVGA 500B is a quality unit that provides significant amps on the 12v rail.

Hello Everyone!

So I recently ordered a ASUS MATRIX HD7970 Platinum the other day and i'm concerned that the 500 Watt PSU wont be enough.

On Asus's website it says up to 300 Watts for the card.

But I Just want to be 100% sure.

Don't want the PSU to crap out on my entire system.

Thanks!

It'll probably work, but you'll be cutting it close.

It won't be close, it has 40 amps on 12V that's near 550w rated power supplies.
