Got it off of Kyle from NewEgg suggestion. He has one, he did a video on it. Turns out the overclock well!

I am looking to get a 1440p monitor and was checking out the Asus PB278Q. My budget is around $500. What do you guys think about this monitor? Is it the best for $500?

Here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/PB278Q-27-Inch-LED-lit-Professional-Graphics/dp/B009C3M7H0

In my opinion, get 2x 1440p monitors for that price. Great PLS panel type(arguably superior to IPS) and you can get two of them.

on ebay, look up dream-seller, he sells the X-Star for the low 200's often. you might be able to get two for 500$ plus shipping.

I'm planning on adding one of the ROG Swift 1440p gsync monitors when it comes out, but...

I bought a Asus PB278Q last year and it is absolutely one of the best computer purchases I have ever made. Ever. It looks incredible, especially if you're used to 1080p. You'll need a beastly rig to max out games on it though.

I also would like to recommend the Korean x star. I bought one a few months ago and there have been no problems(besides the bad build quality which was expected). It has the best picture that I have ever seen on a monitor. Mine overclocks completely stable to about 90 hertz. For the price, I don't think that there is anything better that you can get.

There is a big community surrounding the Korean monitors and if there is a problem with your monitor, you can easily find help about it.

only downside is it only uses display port, i would get 2 but cards only have 1 display port :(

Qnix=X-star same company

They don't need DisplayPort. Dual-Link DVI is exactly the same, at least at 1440p. At 4k Displayport finally wins, but at 1440p, they are both equal.
