... On a NH-L9i Noctua cooler

I've never actually overclocked a CPU before, so if anyone can suggest some videos or just wants to help me hands on, that'd be great.

I wouldn't recommend it. The NH-L9i isn't much better than the stock cooler and the case you're using isn't exactly stellar for airflow.

If you really want to..watch your temps.

Honestly for you, try and get 39x or 40x across all cores with no voltage increase.

 

I charge large for hand holding :)

I wouldn't go too high with that cooler.

I just hit OC Genie, 4.0GHz OC at 1.101v, stress test incoming.

thats how i have been overclocking the i5, recently connecting remotely ( on the local lan ) boot in at 4.7 and boost it up through xtu. xtu actually makes changes at the firmware level on msi. so if you reboot successfully the values are saved to the bios. luckily for me i typically crash when benching so the values are never saved and I just boot back in at 4.7

 

trying to beat the worlds fastest 2550k at superpi 1M. So far I hit 7.015 but she shit the bed before I could get a screenie.. cant push much past 5.1

 

I install upgraded cooling solutions, remotely,  all the time :)

download and install msi command center to monitor your core voltage.

 

are you testing with xtu?

I'd be wrong if I'd say that an evo 212 can't do it either: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/cpu_cooler_roundup_2013_q1_review,11.html

You will expect temps in 90° anyways with haswell when stresstesting

30 mins is much too long. You need to do under 7 secs @5.3ghz

You can get it to 4.0GHz without any problems. After that it depends on chip.
