I Think I Messed Up

TheNinjaNextDor

I installed OS X onto an SSD and got it completely working. When I plug in the Windows drive and unplug the OS X drive it tells me to "select a proper boot device." I have an SSD for storage on the way and (I think) my Windows install disk if that makes a difference, what do I do?

go into BIOS and make sure the HDD is first on the list of bootable devices.

Available from 3pm to Midnight Eastern Time (GMT-5). (>'-')> <('-'<) ^(' - ')^ <('-'<) (>'-')> You can't stop the kirby dance.

you have to go into UEFI and put your HDD on the 'boot priorities'

this is the list of drives that the PC will attempt to boot from in order

so if the PC cant boot from the first drive it will choose the second

idk if you want your OSX SSD or Windows HDD frist, but those should be the only two on that list

remove any other drives (such as drive D) from that list

not sure about your gigabyte mobo, but thats how it works on my asus sabertooth

You have to install a bootloader before you remove the USB. Plug it back, boot into the OS, use MultiBoot from Tonymacx86 forums, and install it.
