Cannot upload icons on teamspeak (could not open file transfer connection)

Whenever I try to upload an icon I also get the message

Transfer "icon_2954663700" reports: (could not open file transfer connection)
<12:23:07> Transfer "icon_3633886810" reports: (could not open file transfer connection)
<12:23:07> Transfer "icon_463128810" reports: (could not open file transfer connection)

<12:23:07> Transfer "icon_557714825" reports: (could not open file transfer connection)

Yes all of the ports are open and are verified open (Using canyouseeme)

Anyone have any ideas?

Hope I could help!

I would try asking on the TeamSpeak forums. Because this doesn't give us a lot of information.

Is this your own TeamSpeak Server, do you have it running on your own PC/Server? If so, try checking your firewall settings.

Also, with my dedicated Windows 2008R2 Server, port forward doesn't seem to work from my router. So I had to make my Windows Dedi Server the DMZ Host in my router. So all connections bypass my router, so I am not limited by the router's settings. I would try to set your server as the DMZ host in your router, just to see if the problem is your router. Thats if your server is even behind a router.

Oh yea sorry I forgot to add this is my server (Running off old laptop) I know the firewall is not the issue (All of them are turned off)

I will try the DMZ in a little bit and will report back! Thanks for the suggestion! :D

Okay so I figured out that the issue was that it was Norton fucking me over! :)

Yeah, that would do it. lol. A lot of Anti-Virus software has their own Firewall built-in.

  • 1 year later...

I am running Teamspeak 3 on my Linux server, didn't really notice any problems but a few people are complaining that they get the same errors you're getting. Strange thing is all my ports are correctly forwarded, and most everyone doesn't have this issue.

The specific build I am using is ubuntu server 14.04.3 LTS.

I can only assume its a really easy fix.

**Error logs below**

<01:35:25> The icon for server group "Server Admin" was not found.
<01:35:25> The icon for server group "Penguin" was not found.
<01:35:26> Transfer "icon_1298878932" reports: (file transfer connection timeout)
<01:35:26> Transfer "icon_1926529428" reports: (file transfer connection timeout)
<01:35:26> Transfer "icon_2815481283" reports: (file transfer connection timeout)
****

I just did the typical way of uploading the icons, though initially I did incorrectly forward 30033 though I fixed that, and I can't see any reason for that to be the cause of the issues. I will though try re uploading the icons.

Now I may not be having uploading issues, but I can only assume what you're describing is a permissions issue. I actually had to set the server admin slot to allow uploads over 5kb. Though your issue may be server side such as the folder used to hold the icons only allowing root or another user on the machine to access it. Depends on how you set it up, and considering you set it up yourself it may be that. I had the same issues with a website not fully loading because the folders where root access only.

**MUH bad didn't see that the issue was resolved**
