Whats the best 2 cards you can SLI with a 750W PSU?

Dubesta11

I know that you could do 760's, but would 770's or similar have enough juice?

Thanks to intel's advancement with power consumption and Nvidia's far more efficient ways, we can now pack serious hardware into low power consuming machines, looking back not so long ago, Fermi and Bloomfield look stupid.

unless youre SLIing dual gpu cards (690, titanZ, 7990, 295x2), a 750W psu is enough for 2 cards

yeah it could, but if you have money for 2x690, you have money for a 850w

I'll ask here as well. Will 750 80+ gold handle 2 r9 290's without any problems?

Yep, more than enough. A 3960X @4.5GHz + H100 + drives + XFire R9 290s = 603W in a synthetic load. A 750W PSU can probably handle a peak wattage closer to 850W if need be.

a 290 has a TDP of 300W i think (correct me if i'm wrong), so 600w total, plus other components, it would be quite close to the psu limits

U know sense of humor?

Oh I know it, I use it most of the time, I enjoy it when it's appropriate. Depending on the situation and the type of joke, I'm sure a 10 years old kid would enjoy the "jokes" you guys were making. I'm not gonna continue this conversation any further, my apologies to the OP.

I wouldnt want to push anything higher than 770s SLI on 750 watts. Even that might be too much. It all depends on how much components you have in your setup and if you're overclocking. You also need to make sure the PSU has enough 6-8 pins to power higher tier cards. Make sure the rails have enough power going through them.

meh. 780ti SLI can run fine. people always overkill on PSU, not that it''s a bad thing, it literally is the one part you shouldn't cheap out on.
