Corsair H100i vs H80i

Hi All :D

Just had a quick question, should I go for the Corsair H100i or H80i, I will be over clocking my CPU which btw is an Intel i5 4670K I plan on moving this cooler with this CPU into a little computer such as Corsair 250D, but will the H80i give ample cooling to i5, I am a noob to over clocking so yeah help me guys

Kind Regards

100 is better :/ and the basic ones dont do more than hold the temps down

Both H80i and H100i are enough for overclocked i5, although if you have space in your case, H100i is a better option.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

100 is better but 80i is not bad either.

If you have space and money for a H100i then obviously the bigger radiator will be more effective. The H105 and H110 are even more effective but don't have the software interface features.

If you have enough space i would recommend h105 but h80 is perfect for smaller cases

See the thing is that I'll be using this in a Corsair 450D and then later build a little computer with everything from my 450D apart from the motherboard and move it down to a 250D for a steambox, so do you recommend going for the H80i ?

Is there really that much temp difference between the H100i and H80i, keeping in mind I am on a budget and would like to save as much money as possible :D

If you plan going to a small case like 250d h80 is your only option

If you have a tight budget, go with H80i in push-pull, you'll maybe lose 1-4 degrees compared to H100i, but it will still run great.

The heat dissipation will be less with a H80i but that just means a less aggressive overclock and maintaining the same temperature rather than actually running hotter.

linus has got the H80i 13° warmer than the H100i with the H80i in push/pull and 24°

warmer with just one fan vs H100i dual fan. so overclocking will deffo need the

better thermal control.

so if you can use the H100i over the H80i if the case can support it. if not, look to a

high-ended air-cooler.

H100i is better but the h80i is also good as it has a thicker radiator. I have a h80 and I have a 4.6Ghz OC, if I had a h100i maybe I could hit 4.7Ghz (@7v fans) but I doubt it could take me to 4.8Ghz so the difference really isn't too big.

If he does end up using a 250d then I doubt the h80 will fit if it's thicker. The h100i is already a tight fit in that case.

Intel Burntest v2 after running the bench mark for an hour (so the radiator heats up) around 85 peak. Prime95 around 70 peak. (degrees centigrade), I run my fans at 7v.

h80i is 48mm thick, h100i is 30mm thick.

In that case there's no way it'd fit into the 250d, it's far too thick.
