What do you think of it? I could get the FX-8320 but right now hardware is WAY Ahead of software, And even 4 cores is fine for gaming right now.
Just look at the Pentium D Extreme Edition 965 which was too far ahead of its time, which is why it was a bad choice back then. But now it becomes more useful...

EDIT: Might cross out the keyboard and use some Old PS/2 keyboard in my basement. Also the monitor im using is a IBM P76 CRT monitor (CRT for the win, sadly they arent being made anymore)

I have a similar rig. But I agree with tmc, a Corsair CX500M would work well here (I have one in my rig).

You could also look for the G.Skill Sniper series of RAM. I have that in my rig (also 8GB @ 1600MHz), and I paid like $60 for it. Though I don't know what the Canadian price differences are or if it would actually be cheaper for you.

I agree with you on the 6300, as well. It's what I'm running and it has no problems playing anything. Play Battlefield 4 frequently. Well, not right now, as my R9 270x was RMA'd. Hopefully I'll be playing again soon though.

Not to steal your thunder here or anything, but if you want to see the parts I chose, you can see them here. Just to compare... http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/100193-the-relatively-cheap-but-decent-gaming-rig-with-room-for-expansion-build/

EDIT: Ah, I see I got 1866 ram... lol. It was still a little cheaper than what you have listed though. Though it may have been on sale come to think of it...

Sadly, if its 60 dollars in the US its probably 80-100$ in Canada

Our dollar is VERY LOW right now... And I mean VERY LOW.

Also, Im probably gonna buy an aftermarket cooler later. Im sticking with the stock for now, but when I decide to OC Il buy a aftermarket cooler.

For that price of a GPU, get a GTX 760 instead. It will be roughly the same cost (maybe $10 more), but you'll get great performance boosts.

Edit: nvm, didn't  see it was Canada prices. But still if you wanted to spend $40 more the GTX 760 is a great card.

Intel core i5-3570k @ 3.4 GHz - Sapphire Radeon HD7870 Ghz OC Ed 1050/1250 - Kingston HyperX 3k 120GB SSD - G.Skill 8 GB's DDR3-1600 MHz

Asus Z77-A mobo - Windows 7 64 bit - Corsair raptor HS30 headset - Corsair CX600 600w PSU - CM hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler

It can run crysis.
