[SOLVED] Spare hard drive cage for 450D?

Go to solution Solved by asquirrel,

For anyone wondering, I got an answer via PM from CorsairGeorge over on Overclock.net.

If you want more HD trays/cages, you'll need to get the cage, and the trays.

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/drive-tray-for-graphite-series-600t $5 each for a drive tray

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/graphite-series-600t-drivecage $10 for the cage (NO TRAYS!)

So...want 3 more drives in a 450D? Best pay $25. That seems...silly, on a $120 case.

I tried asking this on Corsair's official forums and got no responses. In the Corsair store they list "Obsidian Series 550D drive cage with 3 drive trays" and I was wondering if that was the same hard drive cage that the 450D uses. I really could go either way between the 550D and 450D, but the 450D is slightly more in line with having everything I need and nothing more (one CPU {i7 920}, one GFX card (660 TI), etc). Except I do need more hard drive bays.

Oh, and in case your confused by such an old CPU being put in a new case, basically I don't need to upgrade any of my parts, but I hate the CM Stacker 830 I have now. It rattles, it can't run positive pressure, the dust filters are a ROYAL PITA to clean, etc etc. I'd rather just get a new case and start over.

If I'm not mistaking, the drive cages are the same in the 450D & 450D. But before I myself would personally buy it, I would contact Corsair customer support.

Al though they would fit (and this I know for a fact); the one thing I am not 100% sure of, is if the mounting mechanism is the same, and/or have the screws in the same exact spot.

Hi,

From corsair website, 3 disk trays are included in the drive cage (600T).
