Your opinion on 4GB vs 8GB of RAM

im using 3.52gb with 6 tabs of chrome. 

Rig Specs:

AMD Threadripper 5990WX@4.8Ghz

Asus Zenith III Extreme

Asrock OC Formula 7970XTX Quadfire

G.Skill Ripheartout X OC 7000Mhz C28 DDR5 4X16GB

8GB minimum, but isn't there some sort of relation between the amount of RAM and the speed of an SSD? or maybe it was the speed of the memory I forgot lol.

You might be thinking of a software such as samsungs software that let's you use a GB of your RAM to get GB/s transfer speeds

8gb is the perfect balance

just wanted to say that you won't see a pure performance increase unless you are running applications where you previously had insufficient ammount of ram, you will however get greater multitasking capability with more ram, being able to run more things at once without running into any issues, i would probably reccomend 8GB of ram as a starting point for any modern computer these days, to avoid running into bottlenecks.

 

maybe you want more things running in the background or do several things at once while playing a game, i easily exceed 4 GB of usage but i usually don't go over 8GB, you would probably want a 64bit os if you want to utilise more than 4GB of ram though, so keep that i mind.
